What TerraMap processes, why, and what it does not collect.

This page is a draft. Its wording has not been reviewed by legal counsel and will be replaced before TerraMap is generally available.

Website

The public website stores one preference in your browser: your Day or Night theme choice, kept in a cookie named tm_theme and mirrored into local storage so it carries across TerraMap sites. It contains no identifier and is not used for tracking.

The site loads its fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser contacts that service when a page loads.

Accounts

Creating an account stores the details you provide — your email address and the credentials needed to sign in — so that the account can be authenticated and its API keys managed. Passwords are stored only as salted hashes and are never recoverable in plain text.

API usage

Calls to the TerraMap APIs are metered so that usage can be attributed to the correct account and credit balance. Usage records identify the API key, the type of call and the time, and are retained for billing, rate limiting and abuse prevention.

Map and search requests

Map, search and geocoding requests are processed to answer the request. TerraMap does not build advertising profiles and does not sell request data.

Your rights

TerraMap is built in the European Union and intends to operate under the GDPR. The formal statement of your rights as a data subject, the legal bases relied on, retention periods and the contact route for requests will be published on this page before general availability.
